How to install car LED to avoid illuminating the opposite lane

To avoid the car LED lights from shining on the opposite lane, you can install it from the following aspects:

Adjust the light angle
Set the pitch angle reasonably
For car headlights (headlights), whether it is a halogen lamp modified LED lamp or an original LED headlight, the correct pitch angle setting is crucial. Generally speaking, the pitch angle of the light is changed by adjusting the installation height of the headlight assembly or using the headlight height adjustment screw. The height adjustment range of the headlights of most vehicles is between -3° and +3°. Adjusting the light downward to an appropriate angle, such as setting the pitch angle to about -1° to -2° (may vary for different models and road conditions), can effectively reduce the possibility of the light shining upward and toward the opposite lane.
Calibrate the left and right angles

Ensure that the left and right angles of the LED light are symmetrical and appropriate. Usually the left and right adjustment range of the vehicle’s headlights is between -10° and +10°. When installing, use the center line of the road as a reference to make the light evenly illuminate the road surface of the lane and avoid the light from deviating toward the opposite lane. Precise adjustments can be made through professional lighting calibration equipment, or by observing the projection of the light on roadside signs or walls at night to judge and make fine adjustments.

Choose the right lamp and installation location

Use lamps with anti-glare function
Some specially designed automotive LED lamps have built-in anti-glare functions, such as lamps that use asymmetric light distribution technology. This type of lamp is designed to focus the light within the effective range of the lane through special optical lenses or reflectors, while reducing the light output of the upward and opposite lanes. When installing such lamps, correct installation according to the requirements of the product manual can generally avoid illuminating the opposite lane.

Choose the right installation location
If you are installing additional LED auxiliary lights, such as fog lights, daytime running lights, etc., choose a suitable installation location. For example, fog lights are usually installed under the front bumper of the vehicle, close to the ground, so that the light can mainly illuminate the nearby road surface and reduce the impact on the opposite lane. Daytime running lights are generally installed at a higher position in the front of the vehicle, but you should also pay attention to their irradiation angle to avoid irradiating the opposite vehicle diagonally upward.

With the help of auxiliary tools and reference standards

Use the light adjustment template
When installing LED lights, you can use the light adjustment template to assist in positioning. Some auto repair shops or lamp manufacturers provide special light adjustment templates, which are placed on the ground at a certain distance (such as 10 meters or 15 meters) in front of the vehicle. By observing the projection position of the light on the template, you can judge whether the light angle is appropriate and make corresponding adjustments.

Reference regulations and standards
Different countries and regions have clear regulations and standards for the angle and range of car lights. When installing car LED lights, you must understand and comply with these local regulations to ensure that the lights meet the lighting needs without causing interference to other road users.
